We are sad to tell all of our long time customers that on November 2nd our colleague and friend Yung Jin Nam, Master Caner passed away
Yung Jin Nam
Yung Jin Nam

Yung, Dr. Nam, as we called him, leaves an indelible imprint on all of us at THE CANING SHOPPE.  He was a master caner, Life teacher, and moral booster extraordinaire.  He set the standard for all of us.  His work brought out the finest qualities in our craft, beauty, symmetry, and balance.  He approached each piece as a work of fine art.  He meditated while he worked and often sang ancient Korean and Chinese songs.   Yung believed that the spirit he put in to his work was carried into the homes of our customers.  He said his goal was to have the pieces bring them a sense of harmony and beauty.  When you take the time to look at them, they do.

Young leaves his wife Myung and four children. Sung Ji, Sung Yi, Sung Ho, and Spencer as well as grand children, and many of you who remember him fondly.

The Nam family request that those who would like make a donation in memory of Yung contribute to:

American Cancer Society
